These are suprisingly good!! The only word of caution is if you have MTHFR turnips will further slow your methylation cycles down. So use discernment when eating. Once you get to a good point in the healing process you'll be able to tolerate these again.

Below are two recipes, these are basic recipes - just make it safe for you!!

Variation 1

1 Turnip

1 TBSP coconut flour (optional)

2 TBSP olive oil

1 tsp onion flakes (or powder)

Sea Salt

Heat oven to 425.

Slice turnip into thick match stick style pieces. Toss turnip pieces and olive oil in a small bowl until fully covered. Sprinkle with sea salt, coconut flour (optional), and onion flakes and toss until all mixed.

Spread out on parchment lined baking sheet; bake 30 minutes or until golden brown.

NOTE: They don’t get ‘crunchy’ unless you decide to fry them.

VARIATION 2:

4–5 cups turnips (about 2 large), peeled and chopped into a fry shape

1 Tablespoon avocado oil

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Preheat oven to 425°F. Add turnips to a large bowl and toss with avocado oil, salt, garlic powder, pepper and chili powder. Pour turnips on to a baking sheet (lined with parchment if you’d like).

Roast for 15 minutes. Toss and continue roasting for another 10-15 minutes.

Varations: You can use potato, carrots or rutabaga (slows methylation also). For added kick you can add Cajun spices (if tolerated).

Love and Light,

Happy Healing
