Homemade Rose Water Toner

There are a LOT of recipes out there on line and finding the right ones can be a little daunting. With autoimmune issues, allergies, chronic illness, or you just want to live a healthy greener lifestyle...we tend to try to make it as simple as possible. I mean, the pure homemade products are packed with so much beauty rich vitamins, it leaves our skin glowing! It really is worth the effort, and a lot of the time you may feel a little like a mad scientist and have a lot of fun doing it too! Who can't use a little fun?? So I thought I'd start with the beauty regimen we do every day. Did you know that on a daily basis the average woman (with hair products, makeup etc) that there are over 168 different toxins we are exposed to every day. That's insane!!! What's worse is they use chemicals that are known to be endocrine disrupters, interfere in brain function, reproduction, and cause cancer due to their high carcinogens. The popular chemicals in our beauty products contain plasticizers (used to keep concrete soft to pour it), degreasers (used on garage floors and auto parts), surfactants (which reduces surface tension in dyes). That is insane!! Last time I checked I'm not concrete, auto parts, or trying to use dyes on my face! We know coke can take rust off auto parts but doesn't mean I'm gonna drink it or rub it on my face! (see what I mean?) Doing your beauty care in a specific order helps wonders too!

Cleaners, then toner, then zit cream or spot treatment, then serum, then eyes (cream or serum), then the final moisturizer or anti-aging oil. You can add exfoliators and masks in there too. You can make your own homemade products and get glowing skin without breaking the bank and you're skin will actually BE healthier and more radiant. It is extremely cost effective (pennies on the dollar) and a lot of it is already in the kitchen.

ROSE WATER TONER RECIPE:

Approx 1 Cup Rose petals, rinsed and drained. (be sure there are no pesticides on it, grab one from the garden.

NOTE: you can always get them from the grocery store in the floral dept but there's no guarantee they don't have pesticides on them. I usually grab one at the local greenhouse) 2 cups boiling distilled water Put the rose petals in a large bowl.

Pour boiling water over petals and cover tightly, let stand for approx 4-5 hours. Strain the rose water, to remove the solids, into a bowl, or large pour-able measuring cup. Poor the rose water into a bottle. This will last in the fridge for approx 2 weeks.

Thats it!! Simple right?

Love and Light, Happy Healing.
